Met-Rx was founded 1991. Met-Rx introduced one of the first ever whey protein powders into the sports market, called METAMYOSYN. A lot has changed in the market since then, but Met Rx continue to provide muscle and sports nutrition to athletes who are getting bigger, faster and stronger all the time. IFBB Bodybuilder Phil Heath endorses Met-Rx, amongst others and their name often appears at big events, such as Worlds Strongest Man.
I sampled the vanilla flavour. Although certainly not unpleasant, the flavour was not strong enough for my liking. This could well be down to personal preference, but I prefer a more vivid tasting shake.
Texture: 09/10Great in terms of texture. I mixed the powder with a protein mixing shaker, with milk, for around 30 seconds. The vast majority of the powder dissolved without problem but towards the end, there were a few clumps, denying it a perfect score!
Value for Money: 07/10Is a little on the higher end of the cost scale. A 5lb tub for instance has a retail price of around $60. In my personal opinion, for this sort of price you expect virtually a flawless product and this isn't it. It is by no means the worse product around, but I feel it is let down in the taste department. This being said though, I am yet to sample any other flavour than Vanilla, so they may differ.
Met-Rx Whey Protein SummaryA good, but not great product is the overall outcome of the review. Met-Rx delivers 22g of protein per serving, a good amount but again surpassed by such products as Optimum Nutrition and EAS Whey Protein. It is a blend of whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate, so has the benefits of both. For a full nutritional breakdown, please see above.
Unfortunately none of our affiliated sites provided this product. I haven't seen it around personally for a few months and so it may be being phased out for newer products. Other Met-Rx reviews will be coming soon though so please be sure to visit us again in the near future.
Our apologies but due to the site re-design, the "your reviews" section is undergoing essential maintenance and improvement. We hope to have it operational as soon as possible.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
